Mae Holland, a bright young woman, is hired by “The Circle”, an internet company that seeks to unify social networks, bank accounts and emails into a single transparent digital identity. As she rises through the ranks of the company, she becomes involved in a radical experiment in total transparency that puts her privacy, her personal freedom and that of those around her at risk.
